Toontorial

The Toon-torial is a sub-neighborhood (or a street) of Toontown located in (or nearby) Toontown Central where Toons begin their adventure when they're created. After one has been made in Create-A-Toon, they are sent to Tutorial Tom's building.

Overview

Inside his shop, players will be greeted by Tutorial Tom right after creating their Toon, who will then give them a lecture on what the Cogs are and that they can't take a joke. He proceeds by giving the players two gags: the Cupcake and the Squirting Flower. He then notices that a level one Flunky is wandering outside his shop and instructs the player to go after it, assigning them their first ToonTask.

After the players are sent outside to chase after the Flunky, the only thing left to do is confront with it in a Cog Battle. Because the Cog is only level one and there is no possible way to pass and no timer is visible in its battle, it can never be lost through regular gameplay. After the Flunky has been defeated, Tutorial Tom will teleport to the player and congratulate them on finishing their first ToonTask and telling them to go to the Toon Headquarters, one of which lies up ahead, to receive their reward.

The player will be able to enter the Toon HQ, where they will receive the reward for completing the ToonTask from HQ Harry: a Shticker Book. HQ Harry then gives the player a lecture on how to use the Shticker Book.

After obtaining the Shticker Book, HQ Harry sends the player to the second part of the Toon-torial, which is a straight road leading to a tunnel which teleports Toons to the Toontown Central playground. In front of the tunnel, the player will meet up with Flippy, the current president of the Toon Council, who will teach the player how to use SpeedChat and SpeedChat Plus. After this is done, he will say goodbye to the player and run back through the tunnel to Toontown Central. The player will then continue through the tunnel, finishing the Toon-torial and making it not accessible for their Toon from that point on.

Trivia

• Toon-torial is a pun off of "tutorial".
• It is unknown if the Toon-torial resides in a playground or a street.
  • According to localizer code, the street is called Tutorial Terrace. However, this might not be official; it may just be in case hackers manage to teleport into the Toon-torial and a friend views their location.
    • The district could be set as Welcome Valley since the Toon Headquarters shares the same Toon Platoon board.
  • Some speculate it is in Toontown Central because the two places share the same art style.
    • Although, this can be wrong because when entering the area, only the text "Toon-torial" will show up on screen. In addition, the range of zone IDs of the Toon-torial, which are unique to each playground, street and street area, is 20,000-20,999, wherehas Toontown Central's is 2,000-2,999.
      • Because of this, it can be considered its own neighborhood.
• Interestingly, the Toon HQ in the Toon-torial is the only Toon HQ in all of Toontown to have only one HQ Officer with an actual name, which is HQ Harry.
• All the NPCs in the Toon-torial are dogs.
  • However, Doctor Surlee, who is a monkey NPC, appears in the Toon-torial during Christmas to turn bears into polar bears.
• The game will crash if the player tries to teleport to another district when still in the Toon-torial once they receive their Shticker Book.
• Once the player logs off of Toontown Rewritten and logs back on, they will be sent back to the start of the Toon-torial regardless of what point they were at during it.
• Various dialogue changes and cutscene improvements were made to the Toon-torial.
