Revision as of 07:10, 2 October 2016

Template:ConstructionTemplate:Pagecover ToonFest 2016 is an event that began on September 30th, 2016 to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Toontown Rewritten and 3 years after Disney closed Toontown Online. The event is currently being held in a temporary, newly-constructed area located in Chip 'n Dale's Acorn Acres. However, due to server maintenance preventing the Toontown Rewritten Team from opening up the in-game event, ToonFest as itself will still begin on the 19th throughout social media, and with the beginning of the Toontown Species Election.[1]

Backstage Toontown & Blog Posts

Before the start of ToonFest, there were several "Backstage Toontown" blog posts that covered of Toontown Rewritten's behind-the-scenes development. During the duration of the event, there will also be blog posts announcing updates for ToonFest.

Appearance

It is a large, grassy, hilly area dotted with several pine trees, tons of confetti, cannonstrampolines, and picnic tables, some of which Toons can play picnic games on. While remaining at the area, the sky would go through a process of the day and night cycle. A dirt road leads from the ToonFest entrance, all the way to the ToonFest Tower. Close by is a large mountain with a mysterious mine shaft coming out of it. The mineshaft is inaccessible, but can clearly be seen if you managed to get on top of the ToonFest Tower.

Features from the previous year were added to the area, such as cannons, trampolines, and ToonFest Tokens. The ToonFest Tokens will used to purchase many new prizes upon visiting the Token Takers when the doors of the ToonFest Tower open. New item's will be released, as well as the same as the previous year's items. Bean Bags are scattered across the ToonFest area are bags that give jellybeans as well as tokens in various amounts depending on the color depicted on the bag. Later into the event, Toons will be able to meet Riggy Marole, who will be walking around the area, as well as various events and activities such as the ToonFest Finale Fireworks, new activities, and even exclusive ToonTasks.

The trees were also changed to look skinnier to make the area look more spacious. There is a new path from the big rock leading to the fishing pond. There is also a path that is currently inaccessible near the back of the playground.

Activities

ToonFest had many activities, some of which already existed before the opening. Toons were able to play Find Four, Chinese Checkers and Checkers on the empty tables. There were normal picnic tables, which would spawn food when a Toon sits somewhere on the benches. Cannons and trampolines also returned at the event.

Flippy was also at the celebration with his election pie stand. Toons could take pies from Flippy's election pie stand to throw at Cog dummies. Melville stands near the ToonFest Fishing Pond, allowing Toons to fish and sell them to Melville for ToonFest Tokens.

Later on, Toons will be able to meet Riggy Marole, who will be walking around the area, as well participate in various events and activities such as the ToonFest Finale Fireworks, new activities, and even exclusive ToonTasks.

Trivia

  • ToonFest 2016's first few days were infamous. If a Toon tried to exit the area, they would crash, making that Toon be stuck in the area. This will be later fixed.
