The Boiler is a boss Cog that oversees the Boiler Room in Sellbot Field Offices. Unlike other boss Cogs, The Boiler possesses several unique attacks and abilities, some of which appear as status effects. Depending on the star tier of a Sellbot Field Office, The Boiler has different amounts of health and varied difficulty. The Boiler can only be attacked by Throw, Squirt, and Sound gags.

Health

The Boiler's health is represented by a four-layered health bar at the top of the screen during the boss battle. A green bar is layered on top of a yellow bar, an orange bar, and a red bar. Once one bar is fully depleted by gags, the next bar appears.

There are no confirmations regarding The Boiler's health. However, by counting the amount of damage needed to defeat them, it was concluded that they have 4000 health in a one-star Sellbot Field Office, 4500 health in a two-star Sellbot Field Office, 5000 health in a three-star Sellbot Field Office, and 5500 health in a four-star Sellbot Field Office, respectively.

It was also observed that the four health bars are not evenly divided into quarters of The Boiler's health; the green bar accounts for 15% of their health, the yellow bar accounts for 20% of their health, the orange bar accounts for 35% of their health, and the red bar accounts for 30% of their health.

Phases

During the first two rounds of the boss battle, The Boiler is neutral and is accompanied by four Cogs during the second round before they then undergo offensive and defensive phases periodically, both of which last 3 rounds in all tiers of Sellbot Field Offices. In a four-star Sellbot Field Office, the boss battle begins with The Boiler being Fired Up and Cogs being present during the first round.

  • Fired Up: The offensive phase where The Boiler's attacks deal increased damage. 20% of Damage Up is provided to Cogs the first time, which increases by 10% each time Fired Up begins. Gags deal increased damage against The Boiler.
  • Defensive Strategy: The defensive phase where The Boiler retaliates if attacked and uses certain abilities that benefit the Cogs. Additional Cogs enter the battle and continue to do so until The Boiler reverts back to being Fired Up.
  • Meltdown: Exclusive to a four-star Sellbot Field Office, The Boiler initiates the "last leg" phase once their health reaches the red bar where they become permanently Fired Up and use most of their attacks and abilities (excluding Stamp of Disapproval). Additional Cogs enter the battle and continue to do so until The Boiler is defeated.

Trivia

  • Although gags used against The Boiler retain perfect accuracy, Cogs can still dodge them as with every other gag they normally deal with.
  • When battling The Boiler, the battle timer is 40 seconds instead of the standard 30 seconds for all other battles.

Notes

  1. Although the sound effect is titled "Hit by Throw", it plays whenever any gag of any track hits The Boiler. Multiple animations and sound effects for different gags were originally planned but ended up being unreleased.
