Skill points

Skill points, or also known as skill credits, are earned by defeating Cogs. Depending on the level of the gag and the gag itself, the skill points required vary. Once the requirement is met, the Toon will receive the next gag in that specific track.

Each gag has it's own skill point requirement. The gags are separated by individual tracks, being Toon-Up, Trap, Lure, Sound, Throw, Squirt, and Drop. Skill points for each track are acquired by defeating Cogs with that specific gag. For example, if the Toon uses any throw gag and successfully defeat a Cog(s), they will receive skill points towards their throw track. The same is true with any other gag; once any Cog has been successfully defeated, the Toon will receive skill points for any gag used in battle.

A gag track will be fully complete after receiving a total of 10,000 skill points. Once this has been achieved, the skill bar will display "500 to Go!" Once 500 skill points have been earned, this will give the Toon access to another level seven gag. However, if the Toon is already in possession of a level seven gag, they will have to use the gag in battle before being able to receive another one. Until the gag is used, the bar will remain at "0 to Go!" If a level seven gag is used before the meter has reached 0, the Toon will have to wait until the bar does reach 0. Once they receive the gag, the bar will shoot back up to "500 to Go!" and they will receive a level seven gag.

You can only earn up to 300 skill points per track at one time. Once the limit has been reached, the whole track, no matter what level, goes dull and no more skill points can be received for that specific track.

Earning skill points

Each gag has a different skill point requirement. Some are harder to "train" due to higher skill points required, or due to the fact that they often miss in battle or the Toon doesn't have a chance to use the gag much. As skill point requirements increase, so do the skill points given per gag. Starting out at a low one skill point per use, gags can be tricky to level up. However, as each gag is unlocked, the skill points continue to increase, all the way to seven for a level seven gag. In normal circumstances, the skill point is equivalent to the level of gag. A level three gag giving three skill points, a level four gag giving four skill points, and so on.

In many cases though, it would take up to months to get 10,000 skill points under normal circumstances; slowly grinding up to five skill points at a time. This is when Cog Invasions, Cog Buildings, Cog facilities, and so on come in handy. During these examples, the skill points earned are multiplied, depending on other factors.

NOTE: It should also be noted that using a gag stronger than the Cog will not earn any skill points. For example, using a Birthday Cake, a level six gag yielding six skill points, on a single Cog level five or below will not earn any skill points. This can easily be seen by the gag being dulled down, as seen above.

Cog Buildings

Within the Cog Buildings, a gag's skill points multiply depending on the floor that the Toon is on. However, during an invasion, the multiplier is doubled. Because of this, it is highly suggested to train gags on the higher floors of a four to five story building during an invasion. To see the multiplier, view the table below.

Floor No invasion Invasion
1 x1 x2
2 x1.5 x3
3 x2 x4
4 x2.5 x5
5 x3 x6

Again, the multiplier is only true when the Toon is on the floor itself, meaning the Toon must be on the fifth floor of the building to get a x3 multiplier and the bonus. All previous floor bonuses stay true to the table above.

Multiplier

Status Floor Gag level
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
No invasion 1st 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
2nd 1.5 3 4.5 6 7.5 9 10.5
3rd 2 4 6 8 10 12 14
4th 2.5 5 7.5 10 12.5 15 17.5
5th 3 6 9 12 15 18 21
With invasion 1st 2 4 6 8 10 12 14
2nd 3 6 9 12 15 18 21
3rd 4 8 12 16 20 24 28
4th 5 10 15 20 25 30 35
5th 6 12 18 24 30 36 42

For example, using a Grand Piano, a level six gag normally yielding six skill points, on the fifth floor of a Cog building will earn 18 points, or 36 during an invasion.

Required skill points

As said above, each gag requires a different amount of skill points needed, all dependent on the gag itself and the level of the gag. Below is a list of how many skill points are needed to unlock a specific gag.
