Seeing as the picture was used in the (480) Doodling Doodles | Community Spotlight blog post, it's the only drawing of yours that's canon enough to be used on a regular page on the Wiki. If you upload it, I can put it on the News Blogs (2018) page. If you don't upload it... it may take a while for me to upload it and it won't look as cool with my name by it. :P
One of the big reasons I'm asking you to upload it is the metadata. You might have heard this before, but the Wiki can display metadata that shows stuff like what program it was made in. Here's twoexamples.
Thanks for editing on the Wiki. Have a nice day! :)
I haven't had as much time as I wanted to edit the page wikitext and make it look all pretty, but I HAVE put the picture on the News Blogs (2018) page and linked it back to your Reddit post. Sorry if I don't get back to that soon. I've been busy with personal projects lately.
I also edited the picture's description and added a bunch of links (including Wayback Machine archives) and a transcript. I may have gone overboard with the links, but overboard is kinda my style. :P
I was looking through our images a while ago and I noticed you uploaded "Deer1.png", but then uploaded another called "Deerhead1.png". Since it's not being used, want me to delete Deer1.png for you? (Mods and Admins have the power to delete images and videos.) If you ask me to, I can just delete it under "Author request".
I also noticed that the pictures of that deer head go 1, 2, 3, 4, 6... skipping Deerhead5.png. If you want, I can try to Rename the last four files without leaving redirects, but I'm not 100% sure I could get that to work right. Decent time to find out.
Wanted to ask you about it before one of us adds them to the "Create-A-Toon" page.
Also, for the deer and crocodile sounds, do you know what date the Phase Files you extracted are from? And do you know their location in the Phase Files?
(Well, I'm assuming the location would be close to phase_3.5\audio\dial\AV_deer_howl.ogg, just like my copy from October 17, 2017.)
Reason I ask is I'd like to have that info in the description of the sound files. I spend a lot of time editing descriptions, so I might have time to add that in for ya.
yes, if you could delete Deer1.png, that'd be great! it was my first time uploading anything to a wikia, and the page sort of glitched and uploaded the file twice haha. i couldn't delete it so i wasn't sure what to do with it.
if you could try to rename them too i'd appreciate that, i made a counting error when naming them :p i assume if i just tweak the gallery to reference the new file names, it should be alright?
you're right! the deer and croc files are from phase_3.5/audio/dial/AV_[...].ogg , i extracted them on the 8th February 2018, but as far as i know every species' speech files have been in there since the TTO days. i don't believe the deer and croc files have been edited either, unless TTR fixed the volume of deer's sounds by manually lowering those audio files, but i don't think that's the case. here's a quick screencap of the file names so you don't have to go digging for them yourself: link
HA! i know what you mean about Deerooo.ogg! it's one of the funniest ooo's in my opinion.
i'm really glad i could help! i've been a frequent user of the wiki for a while, but i was surprised to learn how much of a stub the deer and crocodile pages were (considering they were released last September), so i figured i would actually contribute to a wiki for once haha. i unpacked TTO's files many times back in the day, so i figured TTR would be just the same, and it was! i had to look at the source editor for the other species pages to figure out how to upload the .ogg files, but it was pretty simple once i worked it out, so thank you to whoever formatted those!
also, something i wasn't quite sure about - if you look through the files i uploaded, most of them have been attributed with Fair Use, until about halfway through crocodile's audio files when i realize i wasn't actually sure if that was the appropriate attribution.
if they were original TTO files, i think they'd definitely be Fair Use. but since these are files created by the TTR team for a non-profit project, the copyright situation seems a little muddied? if you've any idea what those files (the deer and croc images, and the audio files) should be attributed as, feel free to change them.
Sweet! And yeah, just tweaking pages to remove deleted images is pretty simple. :) February 8, 2018. Got it. Heh, I actually have a lot of versions of the Phase Files from over the years. Like two from TTO and over 10 for TTR. Archiving them on my computer can be a pain sometimes, but very useful too.
I'll likely be really busy today, but I should have some time for it Monday or Tuesday afternoon... maybe. No promises.
Oh, I was just saying the "Deerooo.ogg" filename itself sounds Japanese. But the sound IS really fun to listen to!
It makes sense why an update from September would be overlooked. That's when the year just goes nuts. We got ToonFest, Halloween, a little bit of Thanksgiving where we can relax and maybe catch up, then we got Christmas and New Years. Then Top Toons. Crazy. @_@
I feel your pain on the attribution. Like if I post a picture or animation of MY Toon in the ToonFest 2014 area, I'm the one who took the screenshot, but it has the Disney Dog models, but it's running on Toontown Rewritten servers in the Open Source Panda3D engine in a new area designed and modeled by TTR with an old Disney HUD or some TTR code to hide the HUD and...
awesome! take your time with it, i don't think people are in a super urgency to see Dearhead6.png renamed to Deerhead5.png :p....
thats true! i'm probably overestimating the amount of active contributers this wikia has, haha. i'm glad i could make up for lost time though!
yeah... it's... really confusing. and i sort of deal with copyrights/trademarks in my work (as an artist) and i still don't really know. i'd probably put them as Fair Use just incase, but since the deer/croc models are made by TTR it might require someone from the team telling us what the proper attribution would be. but then again, does the attribution refer to the specific subject of the photo/audio, or does it just refer to the source from which its from? it's honestly so confusing...
oh man, thank you so much!! i'm glad you got to see them haha! speaking of The Two... i just realized that The Two don't appear to have a wiki page here? maybe i'm missing it, but since they're pretty important characters to the plot, and now we have enough info to make a page, do you think it should be done, or not?
that makes me happy to think Slappy would like my art haha, i don't draw him nearly enough, but he's dear to all of our hearts, im sure!
The closest page we have for "The Two" Toons so far is the 26th. Currently Doctor Fissionton, Professor Purrview, and Doctor Fumbdound just have those red nonexistent links. Oddly fitting. "Professor Bafflous" was also mentioned, but he took sick leave so I doubt he did anything interesting yet.
Also the way you talk about making those pages sounds like your on the verge of ruining a good pun or something. So I went ahead and added a bunch of Birthday Cakes in my new (oldid=84633) revision of Loony Labs. HA! I WIN! I find it oddly fitting that all 3 of those names are just red links for today. But yeah, I agree, someone might need to make those pages soon though. Haha.
What if for the Loony Labs pic of Fissionton, it was a bunch of puzzle pieces on the table and you could see The Two, but some of the background pieces aren't quite in place and they're scattered about? ...I have yet to make such a picture, but in theory, I think it would look awesome and mysterious. Then have the full picture from Samantha Spade's blog post on Doctor Fissionton's page!
I hope they add Doctor Fissionton's clothes to the Phase Files if they haven't already. One thing I'm curious about are what Fissionton's feet look like. Does he have four left feet? Is he wearing shoes? The very fate of the world may hang in the balance!!!
thank you so much! i'm also really glad i could help bring the Deer/Croc pages out of stub status :D
as for Fissionton's feet... as far as i can tell, original Fissionton is the blue dog, and the cat!Fissionton is his rewritten counterpart he accidentally ended up sharing a timespace with. so i THINK that they both have normal feet.
as for the puzzle idea - i'm not sure if you know, but that's actually how the "Final Plan" image was put together! so it'd probably be easy doable to get a 'broken jigsaw' shot of them.
Shouldn't "Deerooo.ogg" be renamed to "Deerhowl.ogg" since that's what the phase file says? I believe the other ogg files for other species' howls have the same file name format when uploaded to the wiki by other users, so I'm guessing that's why Yokare named it as such.
It's been a while since I said anything here. Deer and crocodile stuff has been done for a while now. Maybe two weeks? There's been another ripple. I'm sure you've seen the (471) new blog post by now. The dominoes are in place. Let the cards fall where they may.
The "Doctor Fissionton" page has been on the verge of creation for a while now. When either you or X Jumper make the page, I... Oh, Jumper already made a page for "The Two", then renamed it to "Doctor Fissionton" and left behind a redirect.
I have an idea for an awesome Photoshoped picture of the Fissionton(s)... but I never made it, so I've got a picture handy that'll still work really well. I'll be adding it to the Loony Labs page soon, along with another one of Surlee.
I realized I mentioned your Fissionton drawings in this thread, but never linked them for the people who might read this in the future. Mind if I add two links to your Reddit posts?
