Gags are jokes used by toons to fight against the business robots known as cogs, who wish to take over Toontown. Each and every toon starts off with two gag tracks: Throw and Squirt. More gags can be earned by training the owned gag tracks and completing Toontasks to use new ones. Once a toon has access to a certain gag, they can buy more of those at Goofy's Gag Shops.
Gag Tracks
Gag tracks are lines of seven different gags used by the Toons in a similar manner. More can be earned by completing ToonTasks.
These are the Gag Tracks in the game:
Toon-Up
- Main article: Toon-Up
Toon Up gags are all used for healing other Toons in the battle by doing funny or entertaining things. Some can be used on only one Toon, while others can be used on the entire party (with the exception of the Toon that uses it).

Trap
- Main article: Trap
Trap gags are unique - Once used, they are put down in front of the Cog, they require the Cogs to be lured with a Lure-type gag in order to activate and deal damage. They cannot be put down in front of a Cog that already is lured.

Lure
Main Article: Lure
Lure gags are used to, as the name implies, lure Cogs. Using Lure gags is the only way to activate a Trap set by yourself or another Toon. However, activating Traps is not the only benefit of the Lure track. Lured Cogs have a less likely chance of dodging attacks and cannot attack for a set amount of turns, which matters per Gag. Additionally, Throw and Squirt gags gain a damage bonus of 50% on lured Cogs. Lure gags also have a downside - Any Drop gags used on Lured cogs will always miss. Note the $1, $5, and $5 are collectively known as the Cog Catchers.

Trivia
- The Cupcake and the Squirting Flower were the only gags toons could buy in the Gag Shops in Toontown Rewritten Alpha. This is because there were no cogs and Toontasks, so the toons couldn't train their gag tracks and earn new ones.
