+ | Fishing is an activity where Toons catch fish to add to their collection and gain jellybeans by selling the fish to a fisherman. As a Toon catches fish, they earn trophies and additional laff points. There is a total of 70 fish species that can be caught. |

+ | In addition to fish, objects such as old boots and jellybean jars can also be caught. Catching an old boot does not grant jellybeans but can be used for filling any square on a bingo card during Fish Bingo. Jellybean jars instantly reward Toons with a certain number of jellybeans, depending on the fishing rod that they use. |

+ | A pond is an area where a Toon is able to fish. They are located in each and every playground (excluding Goofy Speedway), street, and the estate. To begin fishing, the Toon can simply walk up to an unused dock. The cast button must be held down, pulled back, and released to aim at a shadow; a successful cast will lead to a fish or object being caught. A maximum of twenty fish can be held in the bucket at once, in which the fish must then be sold to a fisherman before the Toon is able to fish again. The fish that Toons sell to a fisherman are then sold to the Pet Shops. If the Toon receives more jellybeans in payment than they can carry, the extra jellybeans will overflow into the Toon's jellybean bank at their estate. This mechanic can be used as a quick way to make jellybeans. By simply catching and selling fish, there is no need for Toons to repeatedly deposit jellybeans in their jellybean bank like with the Trolley. |

+ | A Toon will always start with the weakest tier rod, the Twig Rod. There are several upgrades that can be purchased from Clarabelle's Cattlelog; a new rod becomes available per four cattlelogs. A stronger rod is essential to catch new fish species which may not have been available by using the previous rod, but will also cost an additional jellybean to cast. The following rods are available, ordered from weakest to strongest: |

Revision as of 05:03, 18 May 2020
Fishing is an activity where Toons catch fish to add to their collection and gain jellybeans by selling the fish to a fisherman. As a Toon catches fish, they earn trophies and additional laff points. There is a total of 70 fish species that can be caught.
In addition to fish, objects such as old boots and jellybean jars can also be caught. Catching an old boot does not grant jellybeans but can be used for filling any square on a bingo card during Fish Bingo. Jellybean jars instantly reward Toons with a certain number of jellybeans, depending on the fishing rod that they use.
Fish are indicated by circular shadows in the water. The shadow always appears in the same size and shape, therefore it does not indicate the exact type of fish that will be caught.
Ponds
A pond is an area where a Toon is able to fish.
Rods
A Toon will always start with the weakest tier rod, the Twig Rod. There are several upgrades that can be purchased from Clarabelle's Cattlelog; a new rod becomes available per four cattlelogs. A stronger rod is essential to catch new fish species which may not have been available by using the previous rod, but will also cost an additional jellybean to cast. The following rods are available, ordered from weakest to strongest:
Rod | Weight (lbs) | Cost (per cast) | Fish species |
---|---|---|---|
Twig Rod | 0 - 4 | 1 jellybean | 38 |
Bamboo Rod | 0 - 8 | 2 jellybeans | 49 (+11) |
Hardwood Rod | 0 - 12 | 3 jellybeans | 60 (+11) |
Steel Rod | 0 - 16 | 4 jellybeans | 69 (+9) |
Gold Rod | 0 - 20 | 5 jellybeans | 70 (+1) |
