Changes: April Toons Week

April Toons Week is an annual event that begins on April 1st and ends on April 8th. The first week of April marks the time where Toontown's silly levels rise at grand proportions. The event is based on April Fools' Day, which is celebrated in many countries on the first day of April.

The most common form of silliness that tends to occur during April Toons Week is lack of gravity. However, there is no telling of how silly Toontown may get each year. The list of Silly Surges that have occurred throughout the years have been identified below.

Silly Surges

2014: In-game:

McQuack randomly drops a Grand Piano on Toons walking in the streets and says "Whoops! My bad!"^[1]
Roger Dog was one of the many jumbled cheesy effects.

Social media:

Sir Max changes a Toontown community website called Toonbook to "Maxbook", accompanied by many of his selfies as avatars among users.

2015

ToonFest returns for a limited time renamed as Barbecue Headquarters.^[2]
All Toons and buildings in the playgrounds lose gravity for the first time. The ToonFest Tower also loses gravity.^[3]

2016

The game's opening theme and Pick-a-Toon background are brand new for the first time.
All Toons and buildings in the playgrounds lose gravity.
For the first time, Scientoons from Loony Labs open up the Pet Shops to temporarily house a Silly Meter prototype and offer limited-time ToonTasks for exclusive clothing.^[4]
Toon Statues from the estates dance endlessly for the first time.

2017

All Toons and buildings in the playgrounds lose gravity.
Scientoons from Loony Labs open up the Pet Shops.
Toon Statues from the estates dance endlessly.
Fluffy appears in multiple buildings across the streets in search of Flippy.^[5]

2018: In-game:

All Toons and buildings in the playgrounds lose gravity.
Toon Statues from the estates dance endlessly.
Silly Particles increase at a limit of 50 for Toons to collect, and are worth double in value.^[6]

Social media:

On April 1st, the Cogs take over Toontown Rewritten's social media platforms and send messages under the guise of "Toon HQ".

2019

All Toons and buildings in the playgrounds lose gravity.
Toon Statues from the estates dance endlessly.
The Silly Meter provides double Silly Points and a significantly decreased cooldown time.^[7]

2020: Social media:

On April 1st, the Cogs once again take over Toontown Rewritten's social media platforms, announcing their acquisition of Toon News, Inc.. Messages were published on Twitter every hour from individualized perspectives of multiple Cogs.

In-game:

All Toons and buildings in the playgrounds lose gravity.
Toon Statues from the estates dance endlessly.
Doodles speak for the first time.

Trivia

There was bug that caused some Toons to experience the wacky effects changing every 3 seconds rather than every minute like it was supposed to, which has since been fixed.
"Big Legs" and "No Color" were the only cheesy effects that did not take place during the event in 2014.
Unlike other cheesy effects, the Green Toon, Pumpkin Head, and Snowman Head do not take part in this event. In 2014, the only special effect that took part in the event was Roger Dog.
The blog post titled "When Gravity Falls" is a pun off of a Disney show called Gravity Falls that Joey likes.
The Pick-a-Toon background has the shape of a pig's head rather than Mickey's head, as well as an upside down text and a mashup of new colors.
According to Joey, the April Toons Week theme was inspired by Weirdmageddon from Gravity Falls.
It is possible to jump onto buildings whenever they are floating, as Toons also lose gravity and can jump higher.
April Toons Week previously caused jumbled Toon sounds and cheesy effects. Since April 6, 2019, they had been removed from the event based on community feedback.
